Introduction

For this brief we have been given the title 'The New Elizabethans' during this project we will acquire a range of skills that will help us construct, analyse and visually describe makeup designs inspired by the Elizabethans, to design this we will look at primary and secondary sources which will be examined in social and cultural context.

 

I am really excited with this brief as I have studied makeup for the past 2 years, I have touched on period makeup but have not gone in depth with the different periods. I am excited to learn how to get the most out of the design and how to start developing ideas past what I have already done. I also look forward to learning new skills and techniques.

My new Elizabethan will be created to be suited to fashion, so I will get most of my inspiration from runways and fashion editorials as this is the area of makeup that I am most interested in.
