Design Practice 2
For my second design practice I tired to use stencils to make the edges of my design sharper and also started by doing the eyeshadow first rather than the foundation to see if this was easier and if it prevented fallout. It was really challenging using a stencil on the face, I first tried by using tape under the eyes, but this again was hard to make a straight line because of the contours of my face, so I went in again with a piece of paper and held this up to my face but I still experienced the same problems. The picture to the left is the outcome of this and as you can see the overall image isn't very symmetrical.
I encountered another problem when trying to apply the base after the shadow, it was hard to get close enough to the sharp line without contaminating the brush which would contaminate the base.

Because I was unhappy with the symmetry of the design created by the stencils I went in with makeup remover and drew the design on at the bottom myself, I made the outsides rounder and made them into a point which ended up looking like a heart design over both of the eyes.
I believe this practice is much better than the first, and I have just about cracked the shape that is needed for this design, when applying this makeup during the timed assessment I will stick with applying the base first and powdering really well so the eyeshadow goes on well, then by drawing out the shape with brown eyeshadow to make sure that the designer is happy with what I am creating before I go in with the black as this will be extremely hard to correct with foundation as it turns grey. At the end I will spray the face with fix plus as my model has extremely dry skin.
