LOVE S/S 15 - SPOOKY - Tim Walker

 

Some of my Elizabethan influence came from an editorial spread that found in LOVE magazines S/S 2015 issue. The spread is named 'Spooky' and is modelled by Agyness Dean and photographed by Tim Walker.

These three images below I can see the Elizabethan reference, I really like the use of white black and red in the photographs, this made me think of the Elizabethans, with the pale white skin, black was the Queens favourite colour and also red being a sign of the nobility as only the affluent could afford it.

I also like how dark all the images are, it makes me think of my Lady in Waiting Elizabeth Brydges as I want her to be very dark. The third image especially links to my character as the red on her hands looks like blood, this makes me think of how people thought that Elizabeth had something to do with the Queens death.

The first photo Agyness is posing with a pair of red frilly knickers on her head, you cant really see from the photograph but she is heavily covered in a white powder that looks a lot like what I think lead would look like on the face, and also has white lashes and the brows are stuck up and white. This is something that I think looks extremely Elizabethan.
