Blog Review
Now that I have presented my work to my peers I am more
comfortable with where I am with my work, I thought I was really behind and was
panicking about keeping up with the work load, I saw that I was at the same
stage as most of my piers and that we are in the same boat. However looking at
other peoples blogs made me feel intimidated, I feel that mine is lacking in
visual imagery and could look a lot more aesthetically pleasing, this is a big
concern to me as I feel that my work will not be marked as well if they cannot
see images of my progression.
Today I learnt how to look at someone work from a
constructively critically way, it was strange to look at the work objectively and
point out things that could be changed, but still saying it in a nice way. I
also learnt the time and effort that it takes to mark blogs, and the importance
of keeping up to date with the work and keeping them in order.
The thing I enjoyed the most was having a good old nosey at
other peoples work and blogs, I like to see how people have set out their
blogs, and the style in which they have created it, and how they have found
their inspiration, this was my favourite part as I am constantly worried that
my blog is not up to scratch and that I might be getting my inspiration from
the wrong sources however the thing that I didn’t feel sure about is the
accuracy of how my partner marked my work as she didn’t have the chance to go
in and read any of my work, I would have felt a lot more comfortable if she had
red through my work thoroughly rather than how we only had 15 minutes to skim
over it.
The only part of today’s seminar that was confusing was
trying to mark the other persons work, the marking scheme doesn’t make any
sense to me and it is very hard to differentiate between the two boxes and
actually give them a proper mark, I really do think that these need to be
changed because all of my group openly said that they don’t understand what
criteria they are trying to get you to achieve.
After this I need to catch up on the blog posts that I have
missed and start on my face charts, the reason that I didn’t start my face
charts was because I was waiting for my official Solent ones, the blog posts
that I need to catch up on are the ones about symbolism as I totally miss read
what to do, in order to stop doing this I need to buy myself a diary to keep on
top of all of the home works in class along with the directed blog posts, I
need to do this as soon as possible as to not get too behind on my work load.
The last thing I can do to enhance my learning is to look at
different sources to get my research, watch more films and read more books, I also
need to learn how to Harvard reference my sources better.
FEEDBACK
The Feedback my partner gave me is that "Your blog posts are precise and in depth and on task. There is good refelction on what you are enjoying and what you are not, however there are a few blog posts missing."
And my targets were;
- Complete missing blog posts
- Include more photos of technicals
- More practice outside of uni
