PEER REVIEW

These are the images of my final makeup look as applied by Jennifer, I think she has done a good job of my makeup design but I think the overall look is more of an interpretation of my design rather than a copy. The aspects of the design that she did really well is the base, I think she really recreated the pale tone that I wanted in my design, it looks almost sickly which is completely what I wanted to portray in the design. The aspects that I think could be changed is I believe it is a little too controlled, the makeup was meant to show the erratic behaviour caused by grief, and I don't think this is coming through in the makeup, I do think it is really effective how she has interpreted the design, but I just think it isn't how I wanted to show my character, the black round the eyes could have been a lot darker, however this was mainly to do with time management, as we ran out of time at the end and the highlighter on the end of the nose is too heavy. I really do believe that Jennifer as a makeup artist did cooperate really well, nothing was ever too much of an ask for her and she took direction really well, and I do feel partially to blame as I changed my design during the practice process, if we had had one more time to practice we would have got the design nailed, I believe that the work she created was executed to a good standard however I think that Jennifer needs to be more confident as a makeup artist and this will reflect in her skills, she has a very clean refined approach to makeup and I was getting her to create a look that was quite free, and trying to get someone out of working in such a controlled manner is hard.
