3 Brush Challenge

Today as a fun activity we had to use one of our colour theory designs and recreate this using only three brushes. I used my complimentary design that was inspired by John Galliano & Pat McGrath's 1920's look. The three brushes that I chose was...
  • Kabuki brush
  • Large eyeshadow Brush
  • Angled brush
And the makeup I used was...
  • Supracolour palette
  • V1 Bright's palette
  • Kryolan Foundation palette
  • Liquid Metals Palette
  • Illamasqua Eyeshadow in Obsidian
  • Mascara

These two images are of my final makeup application. I found it really hard using only 3 brushes because I usually use about a million when doing a makeup application. The way I chose my brushes was by using my kabuki brush to apply the foundation and contour, then the shadow brush I used to apply all of the shadow, then I used the angled brush to apply the yellow, brows and also the gold on the lip.

I am really pleased with this application even though it was only done with 3 brushes, the things that I think I could have improved on Is the eyebrows, I think these look a bit too thick this is because they kept going wrong so I had to draw them thicker and thicker.

I have learnt from doing this challenge that you do not need every brush in the world to create a makeup design, and this is something I will definitely start using as it means less brushes to wash!!!!

**HEALTH AND SAFETY**

  • Make sure model is covered over
  • Make sure that the brushes are clean and sanitised
  • Make sure that you do not contaminate products.
